See… Well… What had happened was…

I got behind, ok?

I’m probably not going to mess with videos anymore, even though they’re probably better. Editing takes too long. And writing is safer for me.

But true story:

I once spent thousands of dollars on marketing with a company downtown to boost one of my failed pursuits that was on its last leg.

Alas, the boost was an even bigger failure.

But they credited me some dollars after I broke up with them, and I used those credits to revamp the New Day Inklings site.

“I do NOT,” I told them, “want to come out of pocket at all on this. I want to stick with WordPress, and if my credit doesn’t cover it, I don’t want to do it at all.”

“Got it. Understood,” they replied.

After a bit of workaround, they managed to find a solution that cost more than the credit, took me away from WordPress, and required me to pay someone every month.

I pitched a fit and got my way, which took me to an employee’s personal hosting situation. In other words, complexity way beyond my comprehension. I just knew that it was free, the site looked good, and anyone could get to it unless they used Chrome. I.e. 80% of the world.

Annoying. But free.

And since this ain’t exactly raking in the dough, free is good.

Videos took a break for a while, and I neglected my personal responsibilities to the website. When I put aside my negligence, I could no longer access my site.

Why?

Because the inline specs on the rotary girder…

I don’t know. I just had to reach out to the old employee of the marketing company to find out. He was a nice enough guy. It would be easy.

And two phone calls. STV (straight to voicemail).

It looks like he blocked me. I stopped getting the “Delivered” notification.

Oh well. I’ll do it myself.

And here we are. Trying to build a site that isn’t awful. Trying to do “book reviews.” And trying to “write.”

We’ll see how it goes.

Thanks for joining in.
