I’ve read very little Stephen King in my life. I probably never would have again.
Until…
I had a friend edit my upcoming book.
And he said… that I was as good a writer as Stephen King. His words. Not mine. I swear he said it.
Or… he said something like that.
Never mind that what I write and what King write will almost certainly never be similar, it was indeed high praise, and the editor urged me to read two novels, in particular, by Sir Stephen.
This was one of them.
I obliged, was hooked throughout, and have already begun the second.
Wild note: Firestarter was published in 1980!
I’m a little late to the game…
I do not love what King writes, but I do think that how he does so is very well done.
And I’ll be using some of his tricks.
