I don’t know if I’ve ever said it.

But I don’t even really like fantasy.

Yes, I like Lord of the Rings, but that is in another league. Probably considered high fantasy, but I have never thought so. I always thought it was grounded and believable. Maybe that’s why I like it so much.

Or maybe I just don’t like fantasy, and I DO like story. And too much fantasy, too much unresolved, edge-of-your-seat cliffhangers, too much shifting around to different characters. Maybe I don’t like that.

I like direct. I like resolve.

And, frankly, I have not read any fantasy that satisfies this itch like Lord of the Rings.

All I’m trying to say is… DNF.

I didn’t finish this book.
