I’ve used it in my own writing. About myself. And I meant it.

But it carries a negative connotation too, doesn’t it?

When I read the biography of Poe, I thought at times he was a little whiny.

I’m probably whiny too.

Maybe it’s a necessary trait for being a writer.

Not that I’m suggesting I’m an actual writer… hypothetically is all I mean.
